About the Item

A collection of innovative miniature theatrical staging creates the backdrop against which the sculptural shape of succulent plants stands out. The vases of the 'Scenografie' series represent a metaphysical backdrop that enhances the organic profile of the natural elements that emerge from it. The vase Quinta no. 2 from the 'Scenografie' collection recalls the harmony of Renaissance architecture and the portals with round arches overlap on two parallel levels, combining a frontal view with a perspective. The piece is entirely handmade of painted metal; therefore, it is suitable for an outdoor use too. The whole manufacturing process is characterized by invisible welds that allow visual continuity of all surfaces, as if the vase was a sculpted figure.

Bhaca Medium Brown Planter by Indigenus Designed by Andile Dyalvane Dimensions: Ø 77,9 x H 95,3 cm. Materials: Stone. Weight: 80 kg. Different colors and sizes are available. Please contact us. The Bhaca is a completely personal and original range of stone planters that reflect ceramicist Andile Dyalvane’s connection to his Xhosa roots while celebrating his mastery of an elemental material of choice – clay. Bhaca - meaning scarification - is a traditional Xhosa method of finely cutting the skin (usually on the cheeks) to mark initiation, clan identification, or healing. Andile desires to preserve and share his cultural roots of this ancient tradition by cutting into clay and pushing open the cuts where they intersect as if to open the flesh. The Bhaca has been electronically scanned and scaled from smaller clay...
