Handcrafted in the mid-20th century, this large (40 cm) and exquisite stoneware floor vase bear the distinctive mark of Søholm Stentøj. Produced by the renowned Danish company Soholm Stentoj on the picturesque island of Bornholm, this vase capture the essence of the era's artistic sensibilities. The vase exhibit a captivating graphic pattern composed of horizontally arranged relief shapes. Crafted from stoneware and adorned with a delicate opalescence white ceramic glaze on top of a light brown glaze, this vase exude a timeless charm. Remember that floor vases do not have to stand on the floor, filled with flowers or branches, they can make a great impression on tables, shelves or sideboards too. Søholm Stentøj, or Soholm Stoneware, boasts a rich history dating back to the early 17th century on Bornholm, Denmark's pottery and ceramics hub. Established in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Christian Sonne in Rønne, Bornholm, this venerable ceramic factory remained in operation until its closure in 1996. The name "Søholm" originated from the founders' earlier employment at a faience factory near Copenhagen from 1828 to 1839, with a lease taken in 1834. Throughout its existence, Søholm produced an extensive array of stoneware, showcasing various designs and forms.
