About the Item
A large and impressive West-German mid-century art pottery vase with abstract designs by Scheurich Keramik dating from around 1960. The tall bulbous vase stands on an unglazed round foot with recessed base and has a pinched neck and shaped top with an inverted edge. The body of the vase is decorated with brown stylized fish shaped patterns repeated around the body of the vase and applied against a cream glazed ground. The vase has low relief molded marks to the base reading SCHEURICH-KERAMIK W.GERMANY and is numbered 291-38. A stylish period example of good size.
