A pair of beautiful stoneware vases made by Claes Thell, in the Artist's studio, Höganäs, Sweden. This model - the so-called "chimney vases" - is the most sought after by Thell. It's rare to find a pair. Excellent condition. Both signed Thell '72. Claes Thell is a Swedish ceramicist known for his intricate and sculptural pieces that reflect a unique blend of traditional and contemporary influences. Thell's work is characterized by his use of intricate patterns and textures that are often inspired by nature. He has exhibited his work extensively in Sweden and internationally and is also a passionate educator who has taught ceramics at several institutions. Overall, Claes Thell's work is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike, and his contributions to the field of ceramics have helped to elevate the art form to new heights.
