Signed Raku Glazed Flared Conical Shaped Vase
About the Item
A stylish raku glazed flared conical shaped vase signed to the base and dating from the 20th century. The hand thrown vase stands on a narrow rounded foot with a round conical shaped body with a wide flared rim. The outer body has a smooth finish while the inner vase has a natural coiled patterning. The body of the vase is decorated in matte and metallic glazes with wonderful colos with bright golden highlights to the outer body and base and with a more muted matt finish to the inner vase. With a smooth textured finish the vase has an incised makers mark to the base which we have been unable to identify.
Provenance: from the collection of a private gentleman and originating from the UK art market.
