WT Copeland English Majolica Mythological Satyr Mask and Floral Vase, 1860-1875

About the Item

A Renaissance Revival Majolica vase, WT Copeland & Sons, England, circa 1860-1875. The mythological theme shows Satyr masks with a floral pattern of twining vines and leaves. Brightly colored with careful glazing and a turquoise interior. The top is formed of a ring of petal shaped shields. 9 in. H. Impressed ‘Copeland’ on the foot rim. Excellent antique condition, light interior staining. Some early cold-painted color touch-up, possibly applied in the finishing process.
