About the Item
A really stylish retro / vintage cocktail shaker with the body and the lid to the top having a brushed / bark decoration, a lovely combination together with the mirror finish silver plate.
The underside is marked for the silversmith, Lutz and Weiss of Pforzheim.
Excellent condition, minor usage wear to the interior. Measures: 3 7/8" in diameter x 8 3/4" tall.

Lutz & Weiss
In 1882, Karl-Wilhelm Lutz and Friedrich Weiss became partners & set up a company manufacturing silverware, gold & silver chains. Before the end of the century, the company was a leading manufacturer of silverware & cutlery. The company was located in Pforzheim, the gateway to the Black Forest. This city is famous as the center of jewelry making, so much so that it was known colloquially as Goldstadt (Golden City). The name of this firm is familiar to many collectors, especially those who adore Art Nouveau.
