Antique Hand Carved Early 20th Century Black Forest Nutcracker With Book
About the Item
Very rare early 20th century antique Black Forest hand carved wood nutcracker with book. These particular pieces often feature anthropomorphic figures with exaggerated features, and this one is no exception. The figure's mouth opens to crack nuts! Black Forest nutcrackers are typically made in Germany and Switzerland, and are considered folk art. They are known for their detailed carvings and unique designs. This nutcracker measures 7.5" tall and when it's mouth is extended it's 6.5" wide at the bottom of the handles. It is in excellent condition and structurally sound. Super cool conversation piece! The book cover and sleeve have minor imperfections but the pages are in excellent condition. #9005
