Anthony Stoneware is an American pottery founded in 1966 by Paul Anthony with the vision & passion to produce functional ceramic ware of high material integrity, excellent design and pleasing aesthetic. Anthony Stoneware is the pottery of Paul Anthony and Tim Jaqua who work from their studio in Western North Carolina using traditional techniques of wheel-throwing and slab construction. Not only do they mix their own glazes, but the pottery is fired in a gas-fired kiln which they designed and built. Each piece is handcrafted on the potter's wheel or constructed from clay slabs using techniques that Paul and Tim have been developing in the studio since 1966. Carved and sculpted rims are prevalent and have become the signature design element of their work. All ware is fired to 2400o F to create a very durable, vitreous product that will not decay, fade, or breakdown, which with care will become an heirloom. Crystal is flawless and provides a nice ring tone when plinked. The color is a smoked jade green color that gets darker as the glass gets thicker (towards the bottom). Colorless foot and stylish twisted stem were hand-made and applied to the vessels, the stem is clear glass with a twisted glass design close to the bowl. An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of vintage English cast sterling silver and enamel salt and pepper set, in the form of a soft boiled egg in an egg holder - boxed; an addition to our silver cruets or condiments collection. These exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver condiment set consists of a salt Shaker, a pepper Shaker and two spoons. The pieces of this silver and enamel salt and pepper set have been realistically modelled in the form of soft boiled eggs in egg cups. Each condiment Shaker is ornamented with an enamel eggshell design with the top portion 'cracked' away to reveal the pierced salt and pepper holes; the upper portion of the pepper retains the original gilding. The enamel and silver egg covers detach from a bayonet style fitment to a brown enamel decorated egg cup; once the cover is removed it can be determined the pieces were commissioned to be used as functional egg cups. The spoons have circular rounded bowls to plain waisted stems and terminate with cast finials encircled with scalloped borders and circular motifs, accented with initial 'M' to one and 'N' to the other. These vintage silver and enamel salt and pepper set are fitted to the original hinged crimson leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior and secures with two hinged catches.
