About the Item

Stoneware set from the Liekki range in a beautiful variation of deep browns with a slightly pearly appearance which earned its creator, Ulla Procope, an honorary diploma at the 11th Milano Triennale in 1957. Ulla Procope (b .1921 - d. 1968) is, along with Kaj Franck, the most important designer of the Finnish ceramics manufacturer Arabia. By integrating artisanal aesthetics with functionality of manufacturing, she made a significant contribution to the influence of Scandinavian design applied to tableware. From oven to table, these clever elements stack and the lids can serve as dishes. They all have the Arabia stamp on the back as well as a series of numbers that seem to correspond to the date of manufacture and are in a remarkable state of preservation with some traces of normal use on the exterior bottom. Measurements (cm) : individual bowls - 17 diam & 10.5 h pan - 19.5 diam & 8 h serving bowl - 22 diam. & 16.5 h
