About the Item

This sculptural vessel by Ilona Golovina is hand built from white stoneware and finished with layered textures and flowing glaze details. The form is bulbous yet grounded, with an asymmetrical, torn rim that feels both volcanic and delicate—suggesting an act of eruption or emergence. A subtle gloss glaze has been poured and dripped over the matte surface, forming vertical lines that echo gravity and movement. Golovina’s intuitive hand building process allows for organic irregularities and deeply tactile surfaces. The raw, pitted texture contrasts with the soft luminosity of the glaze, making this piece visually complex from every angle. Its open top and fractured crown imbue the vessel with emotional presence—simultaneously vulnerable and resilient. PLEASE NOTE: This piece is made to order. Images shown represent the style and overall aesthetic, but each work will have its own unique details. Materials: White stoneware, slip, glaze Firing method: High-fired in electric kiln Finish: Matte body with poured glossy glaze accents Care: Decorative use only; not watertight
