Very Large Gilt Bronze and Bohemian Blue Enameled Glass Centerpiece

About the Item

Very large gilt bronze and Bohemian blue enameled glass centerpiece Bohemian, late 19th century Measures: Height 85cm, diameter 45cm This remarkable centerpiece vase is unusual not only for its extraordinary size, but for the striking vibrancy of its coloration. The vase is comprised of a structure wrought from gilt bronze in a naturalistic manner: the legs, for instance, resemble branches, with leaves and berries interspersed. The gilt bronze structure supports a lower glass bowl and an upper glass flute, the glass of both a beautiful bright blue and enameled with pink flowers, green leaves, and ornately colored birds. The piece is a wonderful example of Bohemian design.
