Aqua Handmade Ceramic Grande Platter, Nathalie Sonnet

About the Item

Aqua Coupe Plate Platter Grande By Nathalie Sonnet Nathalie Sonnet is a French ceramicist. The delicacy and rawness of her works exude her process. Artists statement Listen to the feeling of things, Let your thoughts slip into your hands, Confront matter, Enter into its temporality, Dig into the possible, Search by where, decide how far, question chance, Face doubt, discover the unpredictable, make choices, And then, look at what comes, Learn . . . and start again. After studying history and art history, I joined the Louvre Museum at the end of the 80s, which was in full transformation. My gaze then focuses particularly on ceramics, perhaps because here, it is the hand that directly shapes the material. From the eye to the hand the learnings attach me little by little and durably to this subject. In 2005, I set up a workshop in Normandy where colors and lights nourish my work. Measures: 14" Ø x 1.5" H.
