Decorative Ceramic Plate with Fisherman
About the Item
Ceramic dish with fisherman. In the centre is a figure of a man wearing a black hat, green shirt and blue shorts, holding a fishing net with a handle. Around the figure are branches painted with green, blue, red and yellow leaves. The rim of the plate is wavy and also decorated with coloured leaves. The piece has a visible chip at the bottom, which shows signs of use or wear. The style is reminiscent of traditional Portuguese faience, such as that produced in Caldas da Rainha or other regions with a ceramics tradition.
It's a decorative dish, made for hanging or displaying, and not so much for everyday use at the table.
