Mason's Ironstone "Water Lily" Pattern Partial Dinner Service

About

Antique Mason’s ironstone “Water Lily” pattern partial dinner service, decorated with the central theme of a large water lily surrounded by various flowers and foliage with a diaper border of red stylized flowers, in a lushly polychrome Imari palette of orange-reds, pinks, cobalt blue, aqua and greens with gilding. The early impressed mark “Mason’s Patent Ironstone China” in a straight line appears on the underside of every piece. The set comprises a large 10.50? diameter round tureen and cover with a gilded rose finial, eight 9.25? dinner plates, seven 8? salads, four 9.50? soups, one 12.5? octagonal platter. The general condition is excellent, the inside cover of the tureen has a small very old chip.
