About the Item

A wonderful midcentury studio pottery tumbler from the 1940s-1950s by ceramicists, Charles and Alice Smith of California. Decorated with a series of figures carved into the sides of the mug. Finished in a matte black glaze with a glossy green glaze at the rim and interior. Signed "Chalice" on the base.
