This is a rare shaped Tureen
Both the main body and lid are very well potted with moulded detail. The tureen base has two side handles. The lid has a shaped finial knob to the top and a side cut away for a serving spoon.
It is decorated in one of Mason's beautiful hand painted chinoiserie fence patterns called; Fence, Rock and Blue Willow pattern...

This is a good, late Georgian, ironstone Soup Bowl or Plate, in pattern no. 15, manufactured by the English Davenport factory, which was situated in Longport, Staffordshire, England between 1794 and 1887.
This oriental garden pattern is transfer printed in cobalt blue of different shades, with hand gilded detail around the inner and outer rims. The pattern is called "Bamboo and Peony" which is Davenport's pattern number 15, a very early pattern and probably copied from a Chinese original. This exact pattern is illustrated on a plate in Godden's Guide to Ironstone, by Geoffrey A Godden, page 230, plate 176.
Davenport were one of the earliest producers of Ironstone along with Mason's, Spode and others and called their ironstone pottery wears "Stone China".

A Chinese Export porcelain brush pot or bitong, hand painted in a blue and white figural pattern and dating to the turn of the 19th Century, late Qing period, Circa 1900.
This piece is well potted in an over square, circular shape with the diameter being wider than the height. This is a heavy piece weighing over 2.5 Kg unpacked.
It is beautifully painted in varying shades and tones of under-glaze cobalt blue showing various figures in an outdoor scene with bats, fences, trees and mountains.
The piece has a bi-ring base, which is a typical feature of Kangxi period brush pots, though this piece is Kangxi revival in its style.
Overall a very decorative, beautifully proportioned, hand painted blue and white Chinese porcelain brush pot.

This is a porcelain blue and white, gilded Coffee Can made by Miles Mason (Mason's), Staffordshire Potteries, in the early 19th century George 111rd period, circa 1805-1810.
The piece is well potted with vertical flutes, a slightly wavy rim and the loop handle with the distinctive thumb rest spur.
The can is decorated in the under-glaze blue printed Pagoda or Broseley, chinoiserie Willow pattern, (sometimes called Boy at the Door pattern). The piece is also richly gilded in Miles Mason pattern 50 as illustrated on Page 78 of the book; Miles Mason Patterns and Shapes, produced by the Mason's Collectors' Club. The coffee can is also hand gilded around the rims and on the outer handle.
The piece is fully marked to the base with an under-glaze blue printed square seal mark (pseudo Chinese) as illustrated on page 92 of the above publication.

This is a superb Ironstone Sauce Tureen, complete with lid , made by Mason's of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England, during the early part of the 19th century, circa 1820.
This tureen is well potted and is hexagonal in shape with moulded animal head handles to the base and a flower head knob to the lid.
The pattern is called "Water Lily" and is a well known Mason's pattern, as illustrated on pages 136 in The Mason's collectors Club book " A Guide to Mason's patent Ironstone patterns, c 1813 to c 1848" . This particular piece is the gilded version of the pattern and has heavily applied hand gilded highlights. Tureens of the same shape and period are illustrated on Pages 145 and 155 of Godden's Guide to Mason's China and the Ironstone Wares published by the Antique Collectors' Club.
The pattern is beautifully hand painted over a printed pattern with bold enamels of Cobalt Blue, burnt orange, green, puce all in various shades with much additional hand gilding.
The pieces are unmarked as was often the case if the item had formed part of a large dinner or desert service...
