About the Item
A delightful, Japanese licensed Pink Panther Collection pig form money box straddled by a figure of the Pink Panther distributed by Royal Orleans and dated 1981. The ceramic pig stands on a large slightly domed oval base and is of large, rounded shape with delightful, molded features. A tall figure of the Pink Panther is straddled over one side of the pig with one arm reaching inside the money slit and clearly attempting to steal the contents. The base has pink toned edge, and the finely made figure of the Pink Panther is hand painted in traditional pink with colored highlights with painted features to the face of the pig. A rubber stopper is inserted in the base. The pig has a printed The Pink Panther Collection mark to the base along with United Artists copyright and has an original Japanese maker’s paper label with an original paper swing tag to the inside.
Provenance: From an extensive private collection of Pink Panther related memorabilia and acquired through the UK Art Market.
In good condition with light natural wear associated with age and use.
