This pair of Dutch Delft chargers was hand-painted at the renowned De Porceleyne Bijl (The Axe) factory in Delft, circa 1780.
Each charger measures 12.25 inches in diameter and features a beautifully balanced composition at its center, showcasing a basket overflowing with flowers.
The surrounding border alternates between scrolling floral sprays and diamond-patterned panels, all painted in rich cobalt blue on a white tin-glazed background.
The ochre-painted rims provide a warm contrast, elegantly framing the decoration.

We are pleased to offer this pair of Dutch Delft blue and white chargers decorated in the center with an image of a delicate vase filled with chrysanthemums and peonies.
The design in the center of the charger is derived from Chinese decoration, where auspicious flowers were put in bamboo baskets as attractive interior decorative elements.
