About the Item
A gorgeous set of twelve antique French ironstone ('Terre de Fer') dinner plates, featuring a wonderful hand-painted transferware decor of blue and white wildflowers. In very good, vintage condition for their age, with no cracking and little to no staining or crazing. The plates are marked on their bases with the manufacturer's mark of Hippolyte Boulenger and Roscoff, of Choisy-le-Roi near Paris, and date from the 19th century.
