About the Item

This elegant French dinner service was crafted by A. Lanternier & Cie in Limoges, renowned for producing some of the finest porcelain of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The hallmark visible on the reverse dates this service to circa 1920–1930, a period when Lanternier was celebrated for both refinement and durability in tableware. The set is composed of an impressive 50 pieces, including dinner plates, soup plates, serving platters, covered tureens, and dessert plates, all beautifully coordinated. Each piece features a soft celadon green border with subtle scalloped details, accented by a fine gilt rim that enhances the porcelain’s delicate white ground. The gilded handles and finials on the covered tureens add a touch of luxury, reflecting the artistry of Limoges craftsmanship. This harmonious balance of pale green and gold trim evokes the sophistication of French dining in the early 20th century, when such services were essential for formal entertaining. The restrained yet elegant design makes this set timeless—equally at home in a traditional dining room or as a refined accent to a more contemporary setting. Whether used for grand dinner parties or displayed as a decorative collection, this complete service represents both functionality and heritage, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial ensemble of authentic Limoges porcelain. Composition of the service (50 pieces): • 28 dinner plates (Ø 25 cm) • 6 soup plates (Ø 22 cm H 4cm) • 2 serving raviers (23 × 14 × 3 cm) • 2 covered tureens (Ø 37 × H 20 cm, Ø 30 × H 13 cm) • 2 large oval platters (38 × 24 × 4 cm; 43 × 27 × 5 cm) • 4 serving bowls/platters (Ø 30 × H 4 cm; Ø 29 × H 4 cm; Ø 25 × H 8 cm;Ø 29 × H 10 cm) • 4 dessert plates (Ø 22,5× H 2,5 cm) • 2 cake/serving platters (Ø 22,5 × H 5 cm)
