Art Deco Glass Vase by George Davidson in Amber Cloud Glass, Circa 1930s

About the Item

This is a beautiful small glass Vase made by George Davidson and Co. of Gateshead England in the Art Deco period, Circa 1930s. These vases were made in various colours and this is the amber colourway version. George Davidson started cloud glass production in 1923 and this piece is listed as pattern number 1, as illustrated in their catalogue of 1928. The vase is polished on the outside with a matte finish to the inside. Cloud glass is created by applying streaks or trails of dark coloured glass to a paler base glass, which is then compressed in a mould to create a beautiful randomly finished pattern, each piece being unique. We date this glass vase to the English Art Deco period of the 1930s. Overall a beautiful small glass vase from the Art Deco period.
