French Art Nouveau Emile Galle Cameo Glass Vase- Honeysuckle-With Original Labe

About the Item

Rare purple over green and yellow cameo vase decorated with spectacular large honeysuckle blossoms. A very unusual and vibrant colour way and a rare and very effective image - Signed in Cameo see picture 7 with the Provost signature IV (see last picture for Provost dating chart) dating to c1920. A dramatic looking vase in a classic shape. The vase has its original retailer's label (slightly damaged -Saying (Hor)lorgerie Bijouter(ie) objects D'Art Zum????? -alas not enough to place it -beyond a French speaking origin) and amazingly it additionally has the original 'Emile Galle Nancy France' -factory label (in good condition) Emile Galle was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement.
