Fantastic pair of handmade, Art Nouveau amethyst glass vases from France, circa 1900 if not earlier. The cylindrical glass forms are a deep amethyst-cranberry tone with delicate illustrations in painted gold of branches, such as those from a willow tree, reaching around the fronts of the vessels. A slight hourglass silhouette flares at the base, alluding to the organic inspiration like the trunk of a tree, while also offering greater stability when filled with a fresh bouquet of flowers.
