About the Item
Tall (14 inches) and dramatic Mount Washington signed flared four sided trumpet vase, enamelled with polychrome branches and open blossoms on an ivory off white. It is signed with the classic Mount Washington Colonialware signature dating it to around 1907. A classic flared trumpet shape with a small Collar or knop and flat splayed foot -signed underneath
Mt. Washington Glass Works was founded in 1837, in South Boston, Massachusetts.
Mt. Washington produced different kinds of glass including art glass, blown glass, cameo glass, lava glass, pressed glass and much more.
In 1870, they moved to New Bedford, Massachusetts. From 1880 until 1894, they supplied glass to the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company. In 1894, they were purchased by the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company.
