Rare French Art Nouveau 4 colour Emile Galle Cameo Glass Vase -With Irises c1908

About the Item

Rare four colour Emile Galle cameo vase in green, purple and opaque white over bright orange depicting striking blooming Irises and leaves. This is a pattern designed c1908 and this example dates to c1908 (Signed Provost Mark III -see signature chart in last picture) signed in cameo (see picture 4). This is the only time we have seen a 4 colour Cameo vase in this colourway -as noted in the faults they had minor problems with keeping the layers separate which might explain the rarity of the colourway combination. The layer fault does not really detract from the beauty of this vase. Emile Galle was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement.
