Mid-Century Modern Triple Buffet Food Warmer and Server Electric

About the Item

Awesome Mid-Century Modern electric aluminum buffet food warmer/server by Buenilum. This piece is in wonderful vintage working condition with its original cord, circa 1950s. What a wonderful unique piece of Buenilum! This food warmer or server will make any party buffet beautiful and easy. It will serve three separate dishes or fondue recipes. It is comprised of a round aluminum electrified container which holds & heats water to warm the Pyrex bowls that are suspended in the aluminum lid for the container. The container is adorned by two stylish wood handles and each Pyrex bowl has its own beautiful Buenilum lid for keeping the food fresh and hold in the heat. Of course, you could serve cold dishes from it as well just by not attaching the cord. It is in great vintage working condition and the aluminum is wonderful. Buenilum was produced by the Buehner-Wanner company, which was founded by metalsmith and Industrial designer Frederick Buehner and his business partner, Franz Wanner in 1944. Buehner-Wanner produced Buenilum from the 1940s through the 1960s. In 1969 the company was sold to the Pfaltzgraff company who continued to make Buenilum until 1979. Frederick Buehner had developed a unique formula for aluminum which he trademarked as Buenilum in 1933. Pieces marked with the initials BW flanking an image of a castle turret, along with the name Buenilum are considered antiques as of 2014. This set bears that mark. Buenilum is known for its fabulous workmanship and brilliant design with pieces held in museums’ permanent collections. I know this incredible piece will be a treasure for years to come, just make it yours.
