George Jones used to work for Minton before setting off on his own. His company is smaller and focused on producing fewer but high quality majolica. He was a skilled artist. He is known for his whimsical pieces and extraordinary detail.
Here is a set of 3 George Jones graduating size Majolica pitchers. The pitchers have a wood background with strawberry blossoms. The inside is turquoise. The details are very fine and the glazing is lovely.
The tallest pitcher is 6.25"h by 6.5" wide. The middle pitcher is 6" high by 6.5" wide and the smallest pitcher is 5"h by 5" wide. All the pitchers have the normal 'rubbings' on the rims, and the glaze has the normal 'crazying' for it's age and use. The middle pitcher has two small chips on the rim. The middle pitcher is priced at $ 1,150. The Larger and smaller pitchers are $ 1,250.
