About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown aqua blue and gold flecks Italian art glass pitcher shape flower vase. Documented to designer Alfredo Barbini, with original worn "Venetian - Made By Alfredo Barbini for Weil Ceramics & Glass - Murano Italy" label. The piece is published in the Barbini catalog. The rim is folded into a heart shape. The pitcher has an applied handle, filled with gold leaf. It also has applied rigaree decoration around the base with gold. Gorgeous jewel tone. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Mid-century era. Measures 5 1/2" tall x 4" long at handle x 3 1/2" wide.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
