Beautiful cylindrical pitcher with a glossy black base, decorated with a bird among reeds painted in polychrome slip, with small grasses highlighted in gold. Twisted "rope" handle. Late 19th-century work in the Japonisme / Aesthetic Movement style.
With its naturalistic decoration on a dark background and its slip technique, this piece resembles French productions from Choisy-le-Roi (H. Boulenger) or Sarreguemines
