French faience Passover plate, JUDAICA 19th century
Located in Tel Aviv - Jaffa, IL
this plate has a creme white background, the center painted with a man holding a lamb before a cityscape, probably a depiction of Jerusalem by someone who never actually visited the city or even see it, under the man there is the word Passover "פסח" the rim with the order of the Seder, and some grape vines between them.
Passover, also called Pesach ( Biblical Hebrew: חַג הַפֶּסַח, romanized: Ḥag haPesaḥ), is a major Jewish holiday, one of the three pilgrimage festivals, that celebrates the Biblical story of the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt.
Pesach starts on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan which is considered the first month of the Hebrew year. The Hebrew calendar...

Mid-Century French Saint Clement Barbotine Faience Oyster Plates '6' and Dish
By Saint-Clément
Located in Dallas, TX
These colorful antique plates and matching serving platter were created in France circa 1920, by the Saint Clement factory. The hand painted Majolica service features 6 round plates and one charger, all having oyster shaped and lemon wedge motifs. Every piece is marked underfoot "St Clement France". The set is in excellent condition with rich colors in the green and yellow palette.
The faience factory of Saint-Clement, 12 kms from Lunéville, was established in 1758 by Jacques Chambrette, who already owned another one in Lunéville. With this second factory he aimed at the higher segment of the market with prestigious objects. The factory received because of this a label as Royal Suplier for Marie-Antoinette's Trianon.
After Jacques died in 1758, his son Gabriel became the new owner. Between 1759 and 1763 the factory was managed by Charles Loyal, Jacques Chambrette's son-in-law, Paul Louis Cyfflé and the architect Richard Mique, who owned half the factory in 1786.
In the 18th century Saint-Clément produced domestic objects of ordinary earthenware, luxurious objects and decorative objects of fine earthenware (so-called "terre de pipe"). Between the first quarter of the 19th century and 1892 both current utensils of ordinary earthenware and fine earthenware are produced and decorative objects of grand and petit feu (Emile Gallé).
In the second half of the 19th century the factory reproduced Louis XIV objects, among them objects with very unnatural forms, where they attempted to imitate the multicolored decorations of Strasbourg faience...

Set of Three Majolica Pieces, 19th & 20th Century, Floral Hand-Painted Designs
Located in Auribeau sur Siagne, FR
Set of Three Majolica Pieces, 19th & 20th Century, Floral Hand-Painted Designs
Description:
This beautiful set of three Majolica pieces, consisting of a sugar bowl, a plate, and a small dish, is a charming blend of 19th- and 20th-century craftsmanship. The hand-painted floral motifs, featuring red flowers intertwined with brown and green branches and leaves, create a rich, organic aesthetic. While two pieces date back to the 19th century, the small dish from the 20th century complements the set with its slightly deeper green glaze, adding a harmonious contrast to the ensemble.
Key features include:
Authentic Majolica Craftsmanship: Made from glazed ceramic, these pieces exemplify the vivid, glossy finishes and delicate relief work characteristic of Majolica pottery.
Elegant Floral Decor: The intricately painted red flowers, accompanied by earthy brown branches and lush green leaves, lend a natural and timeless charm to each piece.
Harmonious Color Palette: While each item features a unique glaze, the cohesive color scheme ensures they complement one another, making them ideal for display or functional use.
Versatile Use: Perfect as a decorative set for a kitchen or dining room, these pieces can also serve a practical purpose—the sugar bowl for sweeteners, the plate for serving, and the dish for small delicacies.
Antique Patina & Glossy Finish: The natural patina and high-gloss glaze highlight the rich colors and intricate detailing, making this set a beautiful collector's item.
Historical Charm: Combining two 19th-century pieces with a 20th-century Majolica dish, this set is a wonderful representation of traditional European ceramic artistry.
This Majolica set of three is more than just tableware—it is a testament to historic craftsmanship, offering both decorative appeal and everyday functionality. Whether displayed in a classic or rustic interior or used as part of a unique kitchen setting, it adds a touch of vintage elegance and timeless artistry.
