Meissen figure of a piping shepherd, dressed smartly in a blue coat & white had, a lamb and a dog at his feet. Crossed swords mark, by J.J. Kandler, circa 1755. ---------------------------- A rare, large figure. There is also a matching 'Shepherdess' by Kandler. ref. V&A Museum for a similar example, http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O77856/figure-kandler-johann-joachim/ A similar example was sold at Bonhams, Bond St, 5 June 2013, dating to circa 1755. Interestingly, both Bow and Derby made a copy of this figure.
