He presented his work in Paris Salon as from the year 1865. After the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871, Deloye worked in Vienna, Austria, where he created busts for example of Count Andrassy and of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Deloye returned to Paris in 1879 and made a statue of Charles-Nicolas Cochin, located at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris. He also worked for the Châteaux of Chenonceau and Boissiere, and modeled the portraits, statues and decorations which were inspired by art of the 18th century. One of his most important works is the Garibaldi Monument, which was erected in Nice.

Subject: Figurine group / The Ideal Love (Zephyr and Flora)
In Roman mythology, Flora is Goddess of Flowers and of the Season of Spring / her association with the spring gave her particular importance at the coming of springtime. Zephyr was the God of the West Wind (= one of the four seasonal Wind-Gods) as well as husband of Flora.
The Meissen figurine group presented here shows the walking winged nude God Zephyr accompanied by Flora who has an elfin's wings:
Both are embracing each other fondly, the Goddess of Spring puts her head at beloved man's shoulder. - The figurines are attached to flat base edged by golden painting.
