MEISSEN TALL CUPID FIGURINE: CHERUB HOLDING A LIDDED BASKET THE DETAILS ARE STUNNINGLY SCUPLTURED = FINEST MODELLING Manufactory: Meissen Dating: made 1910 (= MEISSEN JUBILEE MARK 1710 - 1910) Hallmarked: Meissen Mark with Pommels on Hilts (earliest 20th century) FIRST QUALITY model number M 113 / former's number 100 / painter's number 3 Material: multicolored porcelain, partially golden painted, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo DESIGN: HEINRICH SCHWABE (1847 - 1924) The sculptor had studied at the School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg (Germany) / he was Professor in Nuremberg during the period as from the year 1875 until 1907. Schwabe was well-known for having designed the famous Cupid L & M - Series in behalf of Meissen manufactory / apart from that, the sculptor modelled busts, children and genre figurines. - THE MODEL M 113 WAS CREATED 1880 - 82.   FIRST QUALITY SPECIFICATIONS: The boyish naked & tall winged cherub holds a lidded basket / AMOR cherub is looking slightly embarrassed since an Arrow of Love is lying on ground ( = the winged cherub wears a quiver filled with arrows). - The figurine is supported by round base.
