Meissen a pair of most remarkable tall centrepieces / fruitbowls: Each of them decorated with a pair of rococo gardeners (male and female), circa 1870 Measures / Dimensions: height: 49.0 cm / 19.29 inches width of bowl: 35.0 cm / 13.77 inches depth of bowl: 27.0 cm / 10.63 inches Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (glazed bottom) FIRST QUALITY painter's numbers as well as former's numbers existing Dating: 19th century / made circa 1860-70 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Modelled bY: Ernst August Leuteritz (1818 - 1893) / designed c.1860-70 Leuteritz was sculptor, having been born as well as active in Meissen, since the year 1882 Professor as well as leader of Meissen Art Department as from the year 1886. Leuteritz modelled at least 230 figurines - for this reason he was the most important Meissen modeller of third and fourth quarter of 19th century. (Thomas Bergmann 2010, page 665) Detailed description: Meissen finest pair of gorgeous centrepieces / centre bowls / fruit bowls, each of them well-shaped: There is a bowl with reticulated walls and edged with golden painted Rocaille ornaments attached to top piece. -- various sculptured flower's blossoms and leaves cover the bowls' walls in abundant manner / mentioned bowls are painted at bottom of inner side, depicting nicest flowers -- the stalk is shaped as a palm tree's trunk deriving from base / the palm tree's leaves of an oblong spear shape are attached below the bowls / additionally, the tree trunks are decorated with sculptured garlands of flower's blossoms with leaves -- a pair of lovely Rococo Gardeners - male and female - (= sculptured figurines) embrace the mentioned tree's trunk / the young woman has collected some fruits in her apron -- round high base decorated with Rocaille ornaments existing. Condition: Very good There aren't any chips, splinters, cracks or any other damages existing ! Even the petals of leaves and flower's blossoms are in finest condition / few of them were restored in best manner (the tiny restorations aren't visible with naked eye).
