Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) and staff member / Kaendler was modeller of Meissen manufactory since 1731, he is one of the best sculptors and modellers Meissen manufactory ever had.
Specifications:
Lidded vase with two cherubs (rarity)
There is a vase of urn type at middle area existing: It is decorated with paintings: Gallant couple of Watteau style at front side as well as small strewn flowers at backside / additionally, a sculptured tree's branch is looping upwards, being covered with wine leaves and grapes whereas these are visible below vase's mouth, too. Lid of vase is crowned with a sprig with wine grapes and leaves. A cherub playing with dog and a second one - seizing a flower's garland - flank the vase. This vase of urn type with cherubs are attached to rocky base decorated with leaves.
