Minton Porcelain Hand-Painted Blank Cabinet Plate Signed AMB, 1890

About the Item

An unusual and stylish Aesthetic Movement Minton porcelain cabinet plate hand painted with flowers and butterflies with initials APM and dating from 1890. This finely made plate is of simple round form with a slightly raised edge and is very finely hand decorated with flowering stems and eight varying butterflies flying around the stems. The plate is painted centrally with initials APM in a gothic style and is marked to the base with initials AMB. The plate we believe may be a blank which has been hand painted either as a commission or possibly a gift. The plate is impressed MINTONS to the base and has an impressed date mark for 1890. From a private collection of interesting cabinet plates In good condition with light rubbing. Minton with impressed marks to the base.
