Large Antique 19th c. French Confit Jar With Original Lid And Ribbon Handles

About the Item

A wonderful large Antique French pottery confit jar complete with its original lid, this unusual jar is a fabulous size and shape and has a beautiful glaze and ribbon handles. Originally used for storing precious preserves, these vessels are entirely handmade and are very collectable. These lovely antique jars are very sculptural and are ideal for holding seasonal branches or flowers. A truly unique stand-alone piece, they are perfect for displaying on a console table, or kitchen counter, and would also look stunning on a shelf or mantlepiece of your home. These jars are entirely unique. Perfectly imperfect, please expect an imperfect condition, with a smooth hairline crack in the lid. These were never created as fine pottery pieces and were hand made to store and carry precious supplies of foods and grains.
