Pearlware Mug with Yellow Slip Ground and Heart Decoration, Circa 1780 The English slip-decorated yellow ground tankard or mug is unusually painted with a heart-shaped panel with underglaze blue painting of a flowering plant and with a underglaze blue wavy line border. The foot and rim are molded with bands decorated in green. The ribbed loop handle has a stylized underglaze blue flower stem painted on it. Dimensions: 4 5/8 inches high x 4 3/4 inches wide x 3 1/8 inches diameter. Provenance: Jonathan Rickard Collection. Condition: Good with a line of glaze on the interior of the mug-see photo. (Ref: NY10448-lam)
