A lovely and rare set of antique French Art Deco faience asparagus serving pieces comprising ten plates and one serving platter, by the respected French Faiencerie, Digoin & Sarreguemines. The plates having one well for your butter or sauce, the platter having a well at each of its ends, all having stunning, embossed designs of asparagus and flora. The beautiful colors of soft spring green and black are set off against an off-white background.
This set would set a chic French table for you and your guests and family to enjoy in high style. I have also used this type of set arranged thoughtfully on a dining room, keeping room or living room wall as a majestic display of French history.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Requisite with its age and use, some of the plates have crazing, one plate has an old repair (a chip re-attached). Some minor chips on plates. One very minor chip on the bottom of the platter. Overall good condition considering its 100 years of exist.

In 1783, Robert Chamberlain (c.1736–98), head of the decorating department for Dr John Wall at Warmstry House, left the company to start his own porcelain decorating business in King Street, Worcester. At first he bought blank undecorated porcelain from other factories such as Caughley in Shropshire, but by the late 1780’s he was making his own wares at a new factory site in Severn Street, Diglis.
