About the Item

A superb Example of an early Georgian Eighteenth Century heavy gauge Sterling Silver Card Tray of outstanding quality and condition for such an early silver item. The shaped circular form with stylish pie crust rim detailing, edged with scroll and shell decoration. Raised on three firm supports, each with unusual “C” scroll above a pad foot. Mark of J C for John Cox. London Hallmark for 1772. Condition: Superb condition with wonderful patination, no losses or repairs anywhere, good crisp easy to read hallmarks. * This tray is much nice in reality; silver can sometimes be difficult to show its true quality.
