Georg Jensen Caravel Salad Servers in Sterling Silver

About the Item

The Caravel pattern was designed by Henning Koppel (1918-1981) in 1957. Koppel was awarded the prestigious award 'The Golden Spoon' for his design of Caravel Cutlery in 1963 This set has sterling silver handles (925 S) extending with ebonized bakelite ends. Impressed company marks for: Georg Jensen (with post 1945 stamp - dotted oval), Sterling, Denmark. This item is pre-owned, but in good condition.

This impressive vintage Danish sterling silver server has an ovoid shaped blade. The surface of this Georg Jensen silver server is plain and unembellished. The handle is comprised of impressive iconic Jensen style floral bud and ball ornamentation conjoining with the plain tapering stem. The hallmarks struck to the reverse of this silver server include Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (this mark was used between 1945-present) Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling (925/1000) Country mark: Denmark Condition This antique Georg Jensen silver server is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
