About the Item
This is a tea pot which was made around 1960 in showa era. The style is called Kyo yaki Seifu Yohei. It is from Kyoto prefecture.
This style was made by a potter artiste Seifu Yohei.
Seifu Yohei:
A Kyo-yaki potter of the end of the Edo period. He was the son of Yahei Yasuda, a retainer of the Kaga (Kanazawa) clan. He was the son of Yahei Yasuda, a samurai of the Kaga (Kanazawa) domain, who left Kaga for Kyoto around 1814 to study pottery under Dohachi Niami. In the first year of Bunsei Era, he built a kiln at Sanyaso in Momoyama and began to produce Raku ware.
