Primitive Sculptural Wall Shelf with Red Paint

About the Item

A red painted primitive wall shelf, fit with two metal "sawtooth" hangers. The perfect size and depth for a small collection of pottery or design objects/implements. The best aspect is the sculptural sides that have an undulating, graduating form from smaller to larger, from top to bottom. This piece has a medium weight and is made of solid wood, and dates to the 1950s, with the original barn-red paint. It lends a rustic charm to any space and seems to beg to be displayed in a kitchen or bath space. If the design is overly polished...a bit too perfect, and an element with a bit more of a naturalist, weathered feel is required to be introduced into the space for balance, or as a foil to the perfection, this is that piece. It also qualifies as the "unexpected red" in a room, and who doesn't need that?!
