17th Century Irish Sterling Silver Serving Set
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive set of antique Georgian Irish sterling silver serving set; an addition to our silver flatware collection
This exceptional antique George III Irish sterling silver flatware service has been crafted in the Old English pattern.
The anterior surface of each spoon and ladle terminal is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a wolf's head erased.
The reverse of these sterling silver spoons are plain and unembellished with rounded heels.
This antique flatware set consists of 10 pieces: 8 Table spoons Gravy spoon Soup ladle.
The sterling silver table spoons are large, as to be expected for 18th century Irish examples; these versatile spoons could be utilised as serving spoons.
The reverse of each piece bears the Irish hallmarks, in addition to the retailer's mark for John Ash 'J. Ash'.
Condition
This antique sterling silver spoon set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each stem are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of Georgian silverware.
