An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver gilt grape shears; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional pair of antique Victorian cast sterling silver gilt grape shears has a hinged scissor action. The handles of these grape scissors are embellished with plain intertwining stems to double antique dolphin decorated fingerpieces, accented with details reproducing the scales, in addition to a shell motif. The circular hinged portion is embellished with a man in the moon mask design. The grape shears are fitted with flat engraved scrolling leaf decorated blades, with a rounded outer edge. These exceptional examples of 19th century silver flatware retain the original gilding. These exceptional Victorian grape shears are a rare design and are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. Condition These antique Victorian grape shears are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck across the interior of the blades are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
