Solid Sterling Silver - Boxed "KEY OF THE DOOR"
English hallmarks proving that this key was made in Birmingham in 1923.
Lion - Sterling silver guarantee
Lower case y - Date letter for Birmingham 1923
Anchor - Identifying mark for the Birmingham Assay Office.
B.G.Ld - Registered mark for Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts Ltd.
A superb solid and heavy key in its original presentation box.
The cast, square shaped grip decorated all round with pierced "C" scrolls.
In the centre, a shield, engraved with the original presentation details :-

The reverse side has been left completely blank.
The key stem is of square section, with cut corners.
Comes in its original presentation, black leatherette box, bedded on purple velvet, and the lid lined with purple silk.
SUPERB VERY NEAR ORIGINAL CONDITION.
