About the Item

Rare pair of German Salt-Species Cellars. An important matching pair of oversized salt and spicy cellars, created in Germany in the 19th century, circa 1870. These beautiful pieces has been carefully crafted in a three-dimensional triangle shape, with beautiful Neo-Classic patterns in solid .800/.999 silver and 24 karats gilding. The three sides on each piece are completely embellished, with chiseled mythological and organic designs, caryatides at the corners and mounted in three rounds sabots. Weight: They have a combined of 409.9 Grams (262.76 Dwt). Measures: 120 mm by 120 mm by 60 mm (4.75 x 4.74 x 2.36 Inches) Hallmarks: Each one is stamped on the underneath, with multiples German marks, the maker's mark, the city of origin, the silver assay mark and signed, "GERMANY .800". Condition: The overall condition of this pair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The 24Kt gild is secured in the settings. Salt cellars designed by Tiffany & Co. Beautiful antique pair of salt cellars created at the Tiffany & Co. in New York city, back in the 1921. This model was crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished finish. made under the directory presidency of John C. Moore during the art deco period, between 1907-1947. The cellars were designed with classical George III styles, based in the original designs made in London by Dorothy Mills in 1755. As with all Tiffany pieces, the quality and design are beyond compared. Exceptional and rare example of Tiffany's finest work. Components: Two salt cellars and two salt spoons. Weight: 190.95 Grams, (122.45 Dwt). Measurements: 76 mm by 76 mm by 33 mm (3 x 3 x 1.30 Inches). Hallmarks: They are each stamped with the maker's mark, the silver assay mark, the order number, the inventory reference, the letter M for John C. Moore and signed as follow, "TIFFANY & CO. 19002 MAKERS 6145 STERLING SILVER 925-1000 2174/2176" respectively" and "REPRODUCTION ORIGINAL BY DOROTHY MILLS LONDON 1755". Tiffany & Co. Pair of shakers designed by Schofield. Beautiful pair of salt and pepper shakers, created in Baltimore by The Schofield Company, back in the 1905. This pair is from the iconic pattern named Baltimore Rose and was carefully crafted in the art nouveau style with a repousse of floral motifs in solid .925/.999 sterling silver. Pear shaped and mounted in three sabots and fitted with removable lids on top. Weight: 155.45 Grams, (99.64 Dwt). Measures: 51 mm by 115 mm (2.01 x 4.53 Inches).
