About the Item
Established in Venice in 1846, Missiaglia is one of the world's premier makers of the finest jewelry objects, as well as a select number of bespoke sterling silver tabletop accessories. This handcrafted stylized conch shell shaker and pepper mill set showcases the skill of Missiaglia's artisans in rendering life-like plant and animal forms in pure sterling silver. The pieces depict stylized and sculptural conch shells with striated tops and bodies replete with a wealth of rectilinear and spherical forms protruding in relief, as well as snail shells (one of Missiaglia's signature motifs) throughout. The pepper shaker is also crowned with a snail shell. Quite simply, these are the finest tabletop products that money can buy. These salt and pepper shakers would surely have been the choice of the Medicis. They are signed Missiaglia and stamped .925. Mint condition.
