This semi oval centerpiece jardiniere was decorated, with Baroque and Art Nouveau patterns in the stylish manner of Louis XV. It was totally crafted with in repousse of solid .925/.999 silver, embellished with organic natural motifs and scenes of the triumph of Bacchus, mounted in four footed elements and two curved handles, Has a total weight of 379.8 Grams or 12.21 troy ounces and a measures of 133 mm by 223 mm by 127 mm (13.3 x 22.3 x 12.7 Cm) (5.25 x 8.75 x 5 Inches). An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot, in the classic pineapple style. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is composed of chased and embossed lozenge shaped convex panels, replicating the fruitlets/spikes of a pineapple, each ornamented with a quatrefoil-floral design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive quatrefoil shaped cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved monogram initials 'HM'. The upper rim is encompassed with an applied band of bead decoration. The waisted pedestal features a circular knop to the centre encircled with further floral motifs. The circular spreading foot is encompassed with a continuation of segmented lozenge panels, reflecting that of the body. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion. The body of this antique silver goblet is embellished with impressive embossed and chased medallion designs, accented with ribbon bows and conjoined with bud festoons. The upper portion is encircled with an engraved decorated interlacing border. The waisted, knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot are encompassed with applied bead decorated borders. This impressive example of Georgian silverware retains the original gilded interior. Condition This antique 1700s silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The embossed and chased decoration is all sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are very clear; the first portion of the maker's mark has worn in keeping with age and location.
